This qualification is aimed at individuals who wish to work as a steward in the Active Leisure, Learning and Well-being sector. This may include events such as sports, music festivals, concerts, parades or carnivals. It covers how to prepare for events, control entry and exit of customers, identify and deal with crowd problems and respond to emergencies.
Topics covered include how stewards prepare for spectator events, controlling the entry, exit and movement of spectators at events, monitoring crowds and responding to potential crowd problems at spectator events and responding to injuries, illnesses and other emergencies in active leisure and learning.

Unit 1: How stewards prepare for spectator events
Unit 2: How stewards control the entry, exit and movement of spectators at events
Unit 3: How stewards monitor crowds and respond to potential crowd problems at spectator events
Unit 4: How to respond to injuries, illnesses and other emergencies in active leisure and learning
It is assessed through the successful completion of the learner’s workbook. Successful learners will gain a certificate for this course. This qualification is achieved over 4 days.
Where is the course held?
The 4 day course will be held in London and will be within walking distance of the train station. We are also able to deliver this course at your chosen location (UK wide) for groups of 8 or more people. Please contact us to discuss your requirements.
- This course starts at 9:30am each day. Please arrive at least 15mins early.
- This course will finish at 4:30pm each day so please ensure you have made arrangements to stay to this time before you are booked on the course.
- At the start of the course you will be required to show one form of ID (Passport or Driving Licence).
